只好 (zhǐhǎo) = "have no choice but to, have to". You do something reluctantly because circumstances force you.
It goes after the subject, before the verb, often after a reason: 没有公交车了，我只好打车。
A stronger synonym: 不得不 (see double negatives).
Examples
我没考上理想的大学，只好再复习一年。
Wǒ méi kǎoshang lǐxiǎng de dàxué, zhǐhǎo zài fùxí yì nián.I didn't get into my dream university, so I have to study another year and retake it.
图书馆关门了，我们只好回宿舍学习。
Túshūguǎn guānmén le, wǒmen zhǐhǎo huí sùshè xuéxí.The library was closed, so we had to go back to the dorm to study.
老师病了，今天的课只好取消。
Lǎoshī bìng le, jīntiān de kè zhǐhǎo qǔxiāo.The teacher is ill, so today's class has to be cancelled.
Common mistakes
✗ 只好我走路。 → after the subject. ✓ 我只好走路。
Don't confuse 只好 (no choice) with 最好 (had better): 你最好早点儿睡 = you'd better go to bed early.
