Subject + 给 + Person + Verb (+ Object)
As a preposition, 给 introduces the person who receives or benefits from the action: 给我打电话 (call me, lit. "to-me make a call").
The 给 + person phrase goes before the verb, not after as in English ("call me").
Common verbs: 给…打电话, 给…发微信, 给…写信, 给…介绍, 给…拿, 给…做饭.
Examples
服务员，请给我们拿一下菜单。
Fúwùyuán, qǐng gěi wǒmen ná yíxià càidān.Excuse me, could you bring us the menu?
我给你介绍一下，这是小王。
Wǒ gěi nǐ jièshào yíxià, zhè shì Xiǎo Wáng.Let me introduce you: this is Xiao Wang.

Common mistakes
✗ 我打电话给你 is heard in speech, but the standard form is ✓ 我给你打电话.
✗ 请拿给菜单我们 → ✓ 请给我们拿菜单 (请拿菜单给我们 is fine too).
