Number + 左右 / Number + 多 + 量 / 几 + 量
Three ways to give an approximate number:
左右 (about) goes after the amount: 二十度左右 (around twenty degrees).
多 (more than, -odd): after a round number and before the measure word (二十多个人 = twenty-odd people), or after the measure word when the number is under 10 (两个多小时 = over two hours).
几 (a few, several): 十几个 (a dozen or so), 几天 (a few days).
Examples
明天最高气温三十度左右。
Míngtiān zuì gāo qìwēn sānshí dù zuǒyòu.Tomorrow's high will be around thirty degrees.
这儿冬天有二十多天下雪。
Zhèr dōngtiān yǒu èrshí duō tiān xià xuě.Here it snows on more than twenty days in winter.
雨下了两个多小时。
Yǔ xiàle liǎng ge duō xiǎoshí.It rained for over two hours.
过几天就暖和了。
Guò jǐ tiān jiù nuǎnhuo le.It'll be warmer in a few days.
Common mistakes
✗ 左右二十度 → ✓ 二十度左右.
✗ 两多个小时 → ✓ 两个多小时 (number < 10: 多 after the measure word).
