Two repeated-word patterns that keep cases apart.
A的A，B的B lists the members of a group, leaving each "as it is", almost always as an observation or a complaint: 衣服大的大，小的小 (some too big, some too small), 孩子哭的哭，笑的笑. The adjective or verb is repeated, with no 是. It is not 有的……，有的…… ("some…, others…"), which repeats nothing.
X归X，Y归Y ("X is X, Y is Y") asks you to keep two things apart: 朋友归朋友，生意归生意 (business is business). The second half can also be a free clause: 生气归生气，事情还得解决 (being angry does not remove the need to settle the matter).
Both are spoken: among people who know each other they calm things down or set a limit.
Examples
这几件衣服大的大，小的小，没有一件合适。
Zhè jǐ jiàn yīfu dà de dà, xiǎo de xiǎo, méiyǒu yí jiàn héshì.These clothes are either too big or too small, and not one fits.
孩子们在客厅里，哭的哭，笑的笑，吵得我头都大了。
Háizimen zài kètīng lǐ, kū de kū, xiào de xiào, chǎo de wǒ tóu dōu dà le.The kids are in the living room, some crying, some laughing, and the racket is giving me a headache.
他们家老的老，小的小，全靠妈妈一个人照顾。
Tāmen jiā lǎo de lǎo, xiǎo de xiǎo, quán kào māma yí ge rén zhàogù.In their family there are the old and the young, and it all falls on the mother.
吵归吵，吵完了我们还是好朋友。
Chǎo guī chǎo, chǎo wán le wǒmen háishi hǎo péngyou.A quarrel is a quarrel: when it's over, we're still good friends.
朋友归朋友，生意归生意，该付的钱一分也不能少。
Péngyou guī péngyou, shēngyi guī shēngyi, gāi fù de qián yì fēn yě bù néng shǎo.Friends are friends and business is business: not a cent less than what's owed.
生气归生气，事情还得解决，我们先坐下来谈谈吧。
Shēngqì guī shēngqì, shìqing hái děi jiějué, wǒmen xiān zuò xiàlai tántan ba.Being angry is one thing, but the matter still has to be settled: let's sit down and talk first.
Common mistakes
✗ 大的是大，小的是小 → ✓ 大的大，小的小 (no 是 in this pattern).
✗ 衣服大的大，小的合适 → ✓ 衣服大的大，小的小 (each half repeats its own word).
✗ 朋友是朋友，生意归生意 → ✓ 朋友归朋友，生意归生意 (two parallel halves take the same 归).
