Situation，这样一来，consequence: 这样一来 takes up the whole situation just described ("in this way, as a result, that being so") and announces the new state of affairs it brings about: 他听了医生的话，每天都去外面散步，这样一来，他的病很快就好了.
The result can be favourable or not, and it is often a state rather than a bare fact: 这些小鸟总是在唱歌，这样一来，我家门前可热闹了. The phrase opens a clause and is set off by a comma.
Difference from 因此 / 所以 (hsk4-g07): those connectors only state a cause → result link, whereas 这样一来 sums up the situation first and shows its concrete effect. Neutral register, common in speech and in writing. What follows is always the result, never the cause.

Tā tīng le yīshēng de huà, měi tiān dōu qù wàimiàn sànbù, zhèyàng yìlái, tā de bìng hěn kuài jiù hǎo le.He took the doctor's advice and went out for a walk every day; as a result, he was soon better.

Common mistakes
✗ 这样一来，因为他病了。 → ✓ 他病了，这样一来，他不能去了。 (这样一来 introduces the result, not the cause).
✗ 这一样来 → ✓ 这样一来 (the four characters form a fixed block, in this order).
